FESTIVAL OF ILLUSTRATION WINS NE CULTURE BEST EVENT TEESSIDE 2016

Cleveland College of Art & Design’s 2015 Hartlepool Festival of Illustration has been named the winner in  the Best Event Teesside category at the Journal’s North East Culture Awards 2016.

The event, which was held at Sunderland Minster on April 26th saw the illustration festival compete against other more established events such as Stockton Calling Music Festival and Teesside University’s Mima and their Localism exhibition for the prestige of best event Teesside.

Other winners on the evening were friends of CCAD, The Bowes Museum, who won Best Event Durham for their YSL: Style is Eternal exhibition which catapulted county durham in to the spotlight for high-end fashion like never before. Sirkka-Lee Konttinen who has also guest lectured at the college was awarded the Special Contribution to North East Culture.
