The North’s leading art and design academics have joined forces to share best practice and share the findings from their individual academic research. Academics from both Cleveland College of Art & Design (CCAD) and Leeds College of Art took part in the second of such days to be hosted at CCAD’s Hartlepool campus on 8th September 2015.

The research days, which are coordinated and led by Dr Jill Fernie-Clarke, have the aim of developing a community of practice through discussion and specialist contact. Art and design academics are encouraged to share their research findings with their contemporaries and learn from each other. Dr Fernie-Clarke, is the Vice Principal Academic at CCAD and the former Head of Research at Leeds College of Art.

The research and scholarly activity committee at CCAD lead with a discussion on the ethical approval of projects, which was followed by a summary by all academics immersed in research and scholarly activity on how they have used their research time in the 14/15 academic year.
