Our very own Amanda White, has been making waves in the illustration world, internationally, for some time now, with her popular alias Mandascat. Amanda’s recent work, which captured the Kestrel Seven vessel, saw her working in more of an industrial way than usual – and getting a very special invite to tour the vessel itself when it berthed in Hartlepool.

Amanda’s website, which sees her regularly receive artistic appreciation from all over the globe, attracted thousands of visitors and triggered a chain of events which saw her invited for a tour of the vessel by owner Subsea 7’s offshore manager and vessel superintendent.

You can read the original story in the Hartlepool Mail here

We at The Northern School of Art are incredibly proud of Amanda, whose name is constantly singled out for praise by students, which has previously lead to commendations for FE Lecturer of the Year.
