FE Textiles alumni, designer and small business owner Olivia Rose, based in Edinburgh has been listed as one of Elle Netherlands favourite made to order brands. In celebration of world earth day the international platform has listed their favourite sustainable brands that will help consumers buy a little bit more green.
“Buying clothes consciously is easier said than done. It takes preliminary research and dedication. And not every choice can always be one hundred percent justified. Still, there are plenty of ways to fill your closet in a more sustainable way. One of these green ways is to opt for ‘made-to-order’. This means that there are no surpluses and residual collections and the quality of the garments is often better. You just have to be a little more patient for it, but then you also have something.”

Since forming in 2017 this young designer has been recognised by brands such as Selfridges, Harpers Bazaar and Vogue. Speaking to vogue of her brand and the environmental problems we face globally she stated “consumers have exceptional power to move demand from fast fashion vendors. The trend is slowly but surely changing.”
