Art Foundation student, Helena Greening, has bagged a place at the very prestigious, Oxford University, to study BA (Hons) Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Art!

After acing her GCSE’s and A-levels at Stokesley School and Sixth Form College, Helena from Osmotherly, North Yorkshire, decided she wanted to specialise in art; “Ever since I’ve been small I’ve loved art but I didn’t think it was possible for it to be my career”, she told me, “then Sue came into my sixth form and told us all about the Foundation course at CCAD, and I knew straight away, I wasn’t ready for University, the course at The Northern School of Art was just perfect for me”.

Helena told me how her time with us has been crucial to earning her place at Oxford, “The Northern School of Art definitely gave me a platform to completely focus on my art. I love it, it’s changed the way I look at the whole foundations of the subject and has given me a massive step up. I couldn’t have got in (Oxford) without my Foundation”.

Helena’s say her next step to study BA(Hons) Fine Art “is a continuation of my life through, what I love, art.”
