Embodied Connections: Women’s Conversations in and through Nature-based Photographic Practice – Arts-based Research Creation Seminar – Plus TATE network & MIMA (2025)

Author: Alyson Agar

Year: 2025

Abstract

Embodied Connections: Conversation Series is a year-long art-based research project set in Hartlepool, a coastal town in the north-east of England. It comprises twelve walking and moving conversations with women and non-binary artists, photographers, and creative practitioners, centred on the creation of participatory, nature-based photographic imagery within the Hartlepool landscape. The project evolved from my respective teaching and visual arts practice over the last twenty years, both of which intersect, interweave, and coalesce, informing and responding to one another to occupy new forms and spaces.
