BA (Hons) Graphic Design and MA Design Practice graduate Mia Angioy has gone from strength to strength since her graduation working on huge projects with brands like Converse and publications like Noema Mag and even produced a bespoke front cover for our most recent University-level Prospectus. Now she is using her creative skills and talent to be a part of a massive cultural moment in British history by creating original artworks for the much anticipated Oasis 2025 reunion tour which took place this summer.

It has been one of the most anticipated tours of recent times, the Manchester founded band have reunited for their first live shows since they split in 2009, London-based agency Brilliant Artists who represent Mia said that “such an occasion called for bold, fresh stage visuals so we were thrilled when animation and live-action studio, Curtis Marrs, asked collage artist Mia Angioy to art direct and illustrate visuals for the performance of two of the bands songs, Stand by Me and Some Might Say.”

Stand By Me:

“Mia designed two distinct sets of imagery, different in style, yet united in spirit. These were later brought to life through animation with the help of Curtis Marrs and their network of animation talent.”

Mia said that director Chris found her work through Instagram, “after I posted a personal project which was an animated collage piece I worked on with animator Amy Hancock, who also worked on the Oasis visuals. It goes to show how important it is to work on passion projects as you never know where they will lead you!”

Mia said that “working on the Oasis tour visuals was honestly a dream come true, and completely surreal seeing it all come together! Seeing the visuals live was surreal, it was amazing to see my work on the screen behind such an iconic band. A milestone moment!

Some Might Say:

Her work is a contemporary twist to the legacy that Oasis have created culturally, she explains “I worked specifically on Stand By Me and Some Might Say, two iconic songs, and wanted the visuals to capture their energy. The aim was to make the visuals feel nostalgic yet contemporary, reflecting the themes of the songs without being too literal, while paying homage to Oasis’ cultural legacy and keeping it fresh for today’s audience. This is exactly the kind of project I dreamed about when I was a student, and I’m so grateful to be part of something so huge.”
