Graduation ceremonies for students from The Northern School of Art‘s classes of 2020 and 2021 were held at the historic venue of St Hilda’s Church on Hartlepool Headland on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 December.

Students attended the events with their families and friends to mark their achievements and celebrate the formal awarding of their degrees that had been postponed due to the pandemic.

The Hartlepool Mail featured a gallery of images taken on at Wednesday’s ceremony including the two photos below.

Almost 300 students attended the events with their families and friends to mark their achievements and celebrate the formal awarding of their degrees that had been postponed due to the pandemic.

The students received their BA (Hons) degrees, which are validated by the Arts University Bournemouth, in a wide range of creative subjects including: Acting for stage and screen, costume design, digital design and advertising, film, TV & theatre production, fine art, graphic design, illustration, photography, production design for stage & screen and visual effects and model making. It was also the first graduation of the School’s Masters’ degree students.

Here’s a slide show of images that were taken at the events and a selection that were shared by graduates and staff on social media.
