On October 1st, Head of Photography, Jamie Macdonald began showcasing a selection of his images at the HIP Gallery in Hull alongside 13 other fantastic photographers. The 4-week exhibition is called ‘Coming Home’ and is curated by Jamie and HIP Patron Matthew Finn, who wanted to resonate the ideas of home, lifestyle, friends, family and environment through the photographs. The pictures are seen as intertwining personal journeys and highlights the familiar feeling of being drawn back home and back to your roots.

Curator and Patron, Matthew Finn, says, “Coming Home acknowledges the desire that many photographers have when producing images. Although photography can take you away from home. The Photographers projects in this exhibition set out a visual map to find their way back. The subject matter although dispersed around the globe finds a common thread…For some it’s walking close to where they live, other’s its finding family on another continent. To photographing mothers and family and friends to total strangers and communities fast disappearing and hedonistic nights out…. we are all looking in the direction of home.”

The exhibition is held at Creative and Cultural Galleries, Main Deck Princes Quay, Princes Dock Street, Hull and runs from October 1st to October 30th
