Cleveland College of Art & Design’s Student Union Team is bringing DIY print media and related crafts to Hartlepool on Wednesday 23rd March and promises to be an exciting showcase of North East talent.
CCAD’s Student Union (SU) has been working hard over the past year to build and grow their student community, a new endeavour at CCAD. Their aim is to bring students together and really promote the astounding work the college is producing.
Chloe Leeson, the Student’s Union Entertainments Officer says “After the success of our winter craft fair, we’ve taken a more refined approach to our next event, bringing our college’s courses and other zine-makers together to sell and exhibit their work through zines, prints, shirts and totes, promoting the skillful DIY methods our sellers go to to share their art with the public.”
The SU Team have already begun collaborating with local zine-makers and artists whose personal touch to print media and merchandise will make this a highly original fair to both exhibit at, and attend.
From illustration, writing to photography, the best of CCAD and Teesside’s artisans are encouraged to compile their finest work into small self-published zines, all available for sale at the fair alongside other craft and print items.
The Fair will have opportunities for the public to browse and purchase some quality hand-made crafts and browse the mini-zine library created during the SU’s Zine Workshops, and a chance for exhibitors to undergo trades of their work with peers and truly embody the DIY ethos of zine-making. The fair will be held at CCAD’s Hartlepool Campus, Church Square, on March 23rd from 4-9pm. You can download the application form to sell your work by Clicking Here
