Students visit Sir Ridley Scott Exhibition

Staff and students got the chance to visit the fantastic The Word: The National Centre for the Written Word, in South Shields to see the exhibition dedicated to The Northern School of Art Alumnus, Sir Ridley Scott.

The students were also able to see the fantastic work created by our sister campus in Hartlepool, due to the fact that costume and production design degree students created a number of costumes and props from six of the most well-known films of Sir Ridley, who also studied at the art college in Hartlepool from 1954 to 1958.

Final year students from the BA (Hons) Costume Interpretation with Design degree programme joined BA (Hons) Production Design for Stage and Screen to create stunning replicas as part of their course, including the Toymaker from Blade Runner, Ripley’s jumpsuit from Alien and Robin Hood’s costume.
