On Septemeber 29th, Phil Illingworth’s exhibition, Apocalypso arrived at Platform A gallery in Middlesbrough. Illingworth’s experimental work is said to explore the relationship of painting, drawing, three-dimensional works and the conceptual; with each piece of art breaking preconceptions of conventionality. The spontaneity of the art is very important to Phil and his methodology involves following the seed of his original idea as closely as possible to maintain that early ‘vital spark’.
